The HFT Order Type Debate

"High-frequency trading continues to stir controversy, and exchange order types are at the center of the debate. Have undocumented exchange order types favored HFTs, or do market participants need to work harder to understand exchanges' order matching practices? TABB director of research Adam Sussman, who recently particpated in a panel discussion on HFT and order types at the GAIM conference in Florida, says regulators still don't know what to do about HFT and, surprisingly, even anti-HFT market participants don't want them to dumb down the markets."
